EMIS Project Manager

BEM Systems is hiring a Project Manager for our software group, based out of our Chatham, NJ office. About Us BEM Systems, Inc. Job Description The successful candidate will play a lead role as the Agile-project manager for our growing software solutions business, and must be able to interface effectively and establish quick credibility and confidence with state and local government clients, engineering, IT operations staff and BEM's strategic vendors. The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects, on time and on budget to enable BEM Systems to provide exceptional business value to our customers. Key Responsibilities Manage Software Development project activities for multiple clients across all project phases, as defined within the SDLC. Project Planning and Management - Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects Team Management - Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members. Product Owner Support - Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, ensuing the project is on budget and helping to implement an effective system of project governance. Process Management and Improvement - Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices Communicate and collaborate with customers as needed in regards to project deliverables including managing expectations, presenting and interfacing with client project sponsors. Make decisions and communicate trade-offs and risks; drive key decisions within projects. Identify, prepare and negotiate project change orders with clients Provide input into strategic planning and the system development roadmap. Contribute to the implementation and testing of deliverables where possible. At a team level, help put in place the appropriate processes, and technology and coaching members of the team as needed to optimize the efficiency of the project team. Develop a project management methodology that is suitable for planning and managing the book of business to achieve the project goals within designated project constraints. Managing several complex and concurrent high visibility projects in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions, and multiple teams. Skill and Experience Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams. Extensive prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 10-15 team members including Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Personnel Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value PMP-ACP certification is required S. or B.A. degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field. Five years of experience in a software development or delivery environment, including 5-7 years of hands-on experience in software project management. Fundamental understanding of web-based systems programming and development, such as .NET, NodeJS, AngularJS Two to three years of experience as a Scrum Master, or Scrum Product Owner Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills. Ability to work effectively with development staff, business stakeholders, end users, management and others outside the organization. Ability to work independently. Self-motivated with ability to drive projects. Experience estimating project costs and schedules. Experience with managing project budgets Abilities and Skills Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools: Agile Project Management tools such as Jira/Greenhopper, Rally, VersionOne or equivalent Microsoft Project, Visio, Visual Studio, and all Office Tools Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view. Experience working with state government clients. Knowledge of Right-of-Way process and/or property appraisal and acquisition experience. Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
