Business Analyst/Client Service Manager

Job Description

Join a high-performance entrepreneurial software development team focused on expanding our software solutions business. We are looking for a senior business analyst who will also function as a client service manager for a portfolio of state DOTs and mass transit agencies. This position serves as the primary interface and liaison with our customers and is therefore relied upon to enhance BEM's relationship with its customer base. This hire will be expected to understand how our software solutions improves the user experience and ROW operations and will gather customer feedback and translate new requirements to the development team. They will diligently test all product upgrades before delivery to client's production environment and ensure that product is defect free and meets client's workflow requirements.

The BA must have experience translating DOT's workflow requirements and specifications into a format that is comprehensible to customer for sign off while detailed enough for development team to execute.

Key Responsibilities:

Under minimal direction, formulate and define system scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of information technology, business processes, and industry requirements.

Act as a liaison between client and technical solutions/support groups, using advanced communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate client requirements.

Apply extensive knowledge of the client's business and industry to elicit requirements and develop detailed specification documents, workflow/process maps, traceability matrix, etc. Should also assist the team in understanding the appropriate acceptance criteria for requirements.

Document requirements, and translate into proper system requirements specifications using industry-standard methods, processes and tools.

Develop visualization, user experience and configuration elements of solution design.

Execute and coordinate requirements management and change management processes.

Participate in proposals, feasibility studies, implementations, and new business development.

Operates as a team member and as a team leader. Advise on methods to improve business processes.

Consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. May lead the training of clients and peers.

Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks.


10 years or more working for state or county government agency or for consulting industry related to real estate acquisition governed by Uniform Real Act and/or utility relocation. (candidates without UTA experience need not apply)

Demonstrated experience contributing to or working with real estate database technology preferably in documenting workflows and converting to technical requirements

Licensure in appraisals preferred

Business Analyst Certification preferred.

Excellent communication skills preferably in conducting User Acceptance Training and software training

Excellent verbal/presentation and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate, and discuss technical issues with a development team and customers.

Proven problem solver, who can think through scenarios and test ideas that improves software stability and reliability. Does not require constant attention and daily oversight to get a task completed

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamically changing environment, with customer focus, and detail-oriented

In this role you will sit in BEM's Chatham, NJ Corporate HQ with your primary focus being the enhancement of the client's experience with BEM's products and services. You will spend 25% of your time out with customers. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
