5 Chatham, NJ Chatham, NJ Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time $3,000 - $4,500 a month $3,000 - $4,500 a month Head Pool Manager The Head Pool Manager is responsible for the complete operations and administration of the pool/aquatic facilities and overseeing aquatic personnel.
The position is also responsible for the health, safety, and member experience of all patrons using the club's aquatic facilities.
The head pool manager will be the face of the FCC pool operation.
The position will report directly to the General Manager and is responsible for ensuring a safe aquatic environment and enforcing and developing of the Club's aquatic policies.
This role requires a true team player who values organizational success over personal gain.
Assuring members and guests receive the highest level of service while maintaining a safe environment is a critical success factor for this position.
THIS POSITION WILL BE FROM MEMORIAL DAY TO LABOR DAY 2024 The Pool Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Employee Management - Hire, train, supervise and motivate pool staff with support from the management and develop lifeguard schedules in advance of the season - Responsible for all lifeguard hiring and building an aquatic team - Implement weather management protocols in coordination with the FCC leadership team - Plan and schedule a minimum of two in-service trainings for lifeguards per month, including first aid skills, facility maintenance, and emergency procedures - Communicate clear expectations to staff on an ongoing basis - Lead by example and develop an employee incentive program with high levels of retention - Work in concert with the FCC leadership team balancing service levels and ensuring safety is never compromised Pool Management - Develop and communicate a clear EAP that exceeds all state requirements - Provide the highest level of service to all members and guests professionally and courteously; - Responsible for oversight of opening and closing the pool each year (Using a third party company) - Enforce rules of safety and proper conduct around the pool area and policies of FCC - Conduct aquatic events as requested by the General Manager or pool committee - Possess general knowledge of all club operations, including tennis, golf, and aquatic programs - Develop and implement training programs for the staff that meet and exceed all existing regulations and statues - Oversight of the safety of all aquatic program offerings and evaluate/recommend changes for improvement - Rescue persons in distress and/or in danger of drowning when indicated and provide safety measures as needed - Ability to perform duties of a lifeguard as needed - Conduct hourly pH and chlorine tests and record in the logbook; - Continuously maintain health and safety standards as required by federal and state law - Create, implement, and oversee pool chemical testing procedures and checklists to obtain high success rates.
- Review, update as appropriate, and enforce all rules and regulations governing the use of the FCC facility to ensure the maximum safety of all club patrons.
- Ensure all labor laws and aquatic codes are exceeded - Assist with all swim team setup, and attend all home swim meets Facility Management - Maintain and complete accurate records of operations, timesheets incidents, and inventory, including pool supplies and equipment - Provide recommendations on pool maintenance to FCC leadership and possess an understanding of facility operation - Ensure proper measures are taken to secure the pool facility at the opening and closing each day - Provide inventory updates to FCC leadership as needed Administration - Supervise record-keeping for all incidents, inventory, and usage - Check the pool email daily and require any inquiries in a timely fashion - Provide a year-end pool evaluation as requested by the GM (Format to be reviewed) - Handle all guest/billing for the pool and ensure it is inputted into POS - Meet or exceed budget expectations as determined by the GM prior to the start of the season - Maintain accurate payroll records - Develop and recommend annual pool facilities plan to be approved by the GM - Document all incidents in an organized fashion as needed Critical Success Factors - Create a safe pool experience that provides the highest level of service for membership - Develop an efficient workflow system - Demonstrate a high level of communication and morale amongst staff throughout the season - Ensure all staff (lifeguards) are professional and accountable 100% of the time - Maintain an exemplary success rate for water testing Employee Expectations - The head pool manager is expected to be on-site no less than 40 hrs.
per week during the season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) - It is expected that the head pool manager work either Saturday or Sunday unless otherwise communicated.
- Willingness to be visible and approachable to members and guests regularly - Possess a can-do attitude and flexibility in handling member and guest requests Expected Qualifications - Maintain a CPO to be funded by FCC - Maintain a CPR, AED, and lifeguard certification - Maintain knowledge of the aquatic industry and all relevant changes Job Types:
